Clémentine Roche (b. 1991), graduated from the National School of Photography in Arles (ENSP).
If she mainly works with the photographic and video medias, that is obviously as a producer, but also as a collector.
In this project, she appropriates to herself the story of P., a character we do not know the identity neither we are sure of its existence. Recovering a corpus of more than 800 photographs, she brings the images out of their context while keeping the story they tell.
Through the obsession of P. for the outside, shown in the series « Mirador », the off-stage and the omnipresence of the wait are emerging. Absence of reason, lack of freedom , P. seems to have locked himself in an anxiogenic system. He constantly photographs from the same window, sometimes he manages to capture some human presences, like ␀eeting specters.
To this corpus born from collections, Clémentine Roche adds some personal creations that are organized in chapters and can be considered as answers, or at least as dialogues.
A work that is dealing with the subject of observation but also the representation of the other, seen as ‘ different ’.
